Burnley continued their excellent start to the season with a 12 try romp away at Bury.
The visitors had built an unassailable 56-5 lead at the break with a wonderful display of attacking rugby .
They couldn’t quite sustain that level of performance in the second half as Bury dug deep and fought tooth and nail to restrict a rampant Burnley side.
Skipper Tom Ives opened Burnley’s account with tries from Reuben Gill, Tom Hall and Rob Lawless following.
The scoreline was then boosted by a Danny Rowlands brace and hat-tricks for Lee Farrier and Filipo Alefosi.
James Redfern added 11 conversions in a remarkable kicking display with Lawless adding one more to take the score to 84-12 at full-time.
Burnley travel to local rivals Colne and Nelson tomorrow in an eagerly anticipated derby match.
The seconds are home to Tarleton while the thirds are at Garstang.
On Sunday the under 7s up to the under 11s are at Orrell, the under 12s and 13s are training, the under 14s and under 16s are at Garstang while the ladies are at Southport at 2 p.m.
