Bobcats celebrate string of regional medal wins

Burnley Bobcats Squad competed at the North West Region Summer Championships event recently.

She added silver in the 400m freestyle and bronze in the 50m freestyle, to qualify for the British Summer Championships in the 100m, 200m, 800m freestyle, and 100m butterfly. She will also compete at the ASA National Summer Championships in the 50m and 400m freestyle, and 200m and 50m butterfly.

Boys’ captain Josh Lambert (16) won bronze in the 100m butterfly and 200m Individual Medley, qualifying for the British Championships in the 100m butterfly. He will also be a member of the Boys’ Medley Relay team at the Nationals.

Miranda Bower (15) took silver in the 100m breaststroke, and will compete at the British Championships in the 50m and 100m breaststroke.

William Beaven (16) qualified for the 50m and 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly and 200m freestyle races at the Summer Nationals.

Ellie Taylor (15) also earned Summer Nationals qualification in the 50m and 100m butterfly, 100m and 200m freestyle, and 200m IM event.

Elliot Norman (14) swam the breaststroke leg for the Boys’ 4x100m Medley relay team, who won a place at the Nationals, and he will compete in the 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Harry Pilkington (14) won a place at Summer Nationals in the 100m freestyle, and is also part of the Medley team with Thomas Mackay (15).

Colette Meade, 16, qualified for the 200m and 400m IM, breaststroke and freestyle, and was a member of the 4x100m freestyle and Medley team with Ella Sheridan, Ellie Taylor and Miranda Bower.

Lily-Grace Duckworth won the 50m and 100m freestyle and silver in the 200m freestyle.

Para swimmers Katie Rilett-Young (16) and Thomas Brown (15) won Regional titles – Katie in the 400m freestyle and Tom in the 100m breaststroke and butterfly.
