Black Knights' British Championships success

Black Knights Combat and Kickboxing came away with a number of medals from the ICO British Championships in Solihull.

The club were competing in kickboxing and also sub/strike, with some first-timers thrown in at the deep end.

In the kickboxing, there were medals for: Christopher Egerton-Jones (senior, silver), Christopher Egerton-Jones (junior, bronze), Ben Thornton (junior, bronze), Olivia Ainsworth-McCoskery (junior, bronze), Aidan Tregay (senior, two silver medals in two styles).

Sub/strike results: Girls’ group one – Sienna Thornber (gold), Olivia Ainsworth-McCoskery (silver); Small boys’ group two – Alfie Horne (gold), Ben Thornton (silver); Small boys’ group three – George Connolly (gold), Cameron Latif (silver), Joshua Craggs (bronze); Boys’ group four – Kyen Tabbalat (gold), Igor Dolgan (bronze); Teenage boys’ group five – Jameel Saddique (gold), Harvey Wilkinson (silver).

The medal winners now travel to Rome to compete in the ICO World Championships in November.”

Meanwhile, three Burnley CombatSombo club members travelled to Folkestone for the British Sombo Federation British Championships.

In the Masters group, Michael Edmondson won silver and is now part of Team GB for the World Masters in Morocco later this year.

Clifford Jones was unlucky not to place for a medal, and Harvey Wilkinson won silver.
