Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic College student Alyssa Bristow fought her way to a silver medal in the English Open Kickboxing Championships.

The 15-year-old was up against a multiple champion in the final but impressed so much she has received an invitation to represent Team England at the World Championships in Spain in October. Alyssa is a member of Dragons Kickboxing Club on Accrington Road coached by Steven Wong.

She’s been kickboxing for just over four years.

“It is special - I like the competitiveness of it and the club is really friendly and supportive,” said Alyssa.

Alyssa also recently tested herself in the 19 and over category at the Northern Open Championships – and won!

She also got a silver medal for points fighting – the first time she had taken part in this.
