Hunt is on for next Golden Cue champion

The areas top cueists will also be vying for the high break prize of £50 won by Ighten Leigh’s Andy Dibb with a record equalling 131 earlier this year.

Entry forms are available from the Burnley Express front counter, or online at the D&D Burnley and District Snooker League website.

Entry is still just £5 as David Grant of Moorhouse’s Brewery has guaranteed sponsorship once more for the well-supported competition.

The unique format of large and small table will again be adopted for all matches.

Meanwhile, in the D&D Burnley and District Snooker League, Padiham Snooker Club continued their good start to the season in the First Division with a 3-2 defeat of Ighten Leigh A.

They now have six wins from six outings,

Dickie Pinks, who were flying, were brought down to earth with a 5-0 drubbing at Rosegrove Unity.

Howard Murtaugh of Lowerhouse leads the stats so far with six wins and no defeats, whilst Scott Walker of Dickies has the high break with an impressive 78 clearance.

In the Second Division, Westfield A are flying high at the top along with newcomers Paradise B, whilst the other new cueists Burnley Golf Club B are finding the going a bit tough.

Keith McGoogan of Greenhill leads the stats with four from four.
