Hooper in a hurry as darts season starts

gary Hooper started the A. Rollinson and Son Builders Pendle Men’s Summer Darts League season off in fine form.

He threw 160 and120 away, a180, four 140s, had a 144 check and went out in 12 darts for Crown A, as they beat their B team 5-2 in the Hackets Bodyshop Premier Division.

Strategy A players S. Creek and A. Pennington both hit a maximum as they went down 5-2 to David Street, for whom M. Healey hit 134 and 122.

P. Gerrard started on 146 for the Venue as they beat Earby Station 5-2, and Trawden Arms A recorded a 4-3 victory over Carters B.

In the Bailey’s Garage First Division, D. Eastwood started on 160 and threw 180 for Colne Snooker Club in their 4-3 win against Rising Sun.

D. Ahmed also plonked three in a bed for Shorthomers as they won the deciding leg for a 4-3 win against Colne Dressers A.

Jovial Hatters A beat Red Lion 6-1, while Old Band came back from 3-1 down against Tacklers to win 4-3.

A. Parker went out on152 for Old Band.

B. Morville hit 180 and D. Nuttall 140 in vain for Colne Dressers B as they went down 7-0 to Strategy B.

M. Southern started on 160 and A. Peel 100 for Shooters as they beat Colne Rugby Club A 4-3.

G. Unthank hit a maximum, while M. O’Connor hit 174 for Legion Veterans in their 4-3 win over Nelson Cricket Club.

A. Smith threw 102 and 100 away for the losers.

In the game against Legion Veterans and Nelson Dressers, I. Watson hit 140 for the Vets, as did J. Hargreaves for Dressers but the Vets came out on top with a 4-3 win.

In the Third Division, winter league winners White Lion B lost their first game against their A team 5-2.

A. Garbutt hit 140 for the victors.

Carters A beat their C team 5-2.

M. Jenkins hit 140 and 125 for the A team, while K. Bartle and K. Ann both threw 121 for the C team.
