Golden Oldies head the field at Towneley

Hide AdThe midweek Stableford was won by Gerry Turner on Tuesday with 37 points, with Seve Wilson’s 35 taking runners-up spot.
P.S. Jackson won on Thursday on the card from Ronnie Catlow, both players amassing 38 points.
Martyn McEvoy was also in impressive form at the club as the young Irishman returned a card of 81-17-64 to capture the John Smith’s Trophy and claim his first major win at Towneley.
Gary Turner had the lowest gross score of 70-3-67 to finish as runner-up on the card from “Headmaster) Steve Bird with a score of 79-12-67.

Hide AdChristian Richard also had his first major win at the club, winning the Towneley Chalice with a tremendous score of 74-11-63.
Jonathan Turner was runner-up on the card with a 77-14-63, with teenager George Rae taking third with 78-12-66.
Nearest the pin awards went to two of the club’s veterans - Albert Trickett at the sixth, and Scot Ian Ponton at the 17th.
The midweek Stableford winner last week was Steve Wilson, who amassed 37 points, with Ryan Taylor a point adrift.
