Gap cut further at the top

However, the gap at the top has been cut to a solitary point after Jonathan Kershaw had runs of 48 and 33 for Lamb B who proved their worth with a 4-1 home win over Nelson Poultry A to move into second place.

Liberal drop to third place despite a 3-2 away win over St Andrews A with the deciding frame going to Liberal’s Larry Shaw over Steve Greenwood.

Elsewhere Simon McKenna had a break of 60 for Old Band A at home to an in-form Dressers E side, who ran out 3-2 winners, and up at the Gravel Keith Nyari took the deciding frame for Worsthorne with a break of 71 over Poultry’s Mark Salmon for a 3-2 win.

Paradise A jumped up the table slightly with a 4-1 away win over Star C while Alexandra came away from Briercliffe with a 3-2 win.

In the Second Division, Byerden B move into first place after another 4-1 win at home to St Andrews B and Byerden C and White Lea Head share second place after a play-off, which saw Byerden leave Cock Hill with a 4-1 win.

Richard Crew had a run of 32 for Dressers D who move up the league after a 5-0 whitewash over Shorthomers B, while Martin Handford had runs of 29 and 25 for David Street, who came away from Shorthomers A with a 4-1 win.

Elsewhere Old Band B notched up a rare win as they left Liberal C with a 4-1 result and Paradise B gained a 3-2 home win over Carters A.

In the Third Division, Molly Rigby’s A are the new leaders after a 3-2 home win over Lamb B.

Foulridge succumbed to another 4-1 defeat away to Lamb C while Star D took advantage of a lacklustre Old Band C outfit and notched up a 5-0 home win to keep them in third place.

Shorthomers C got the better of their D side and emerged 4-1 winners while down at the Dressers Tony Coffee ended up their only winner as Poultry D came out 4-1 to the good, and David Street B managed a 3-2 home win over Dressers C.
