Alex Kevan was also on the scoresheet twice while Steve Dunleavy and Dennis Hill also netted.
Brothers Anthony and Lee Hartley scored a brace apiece for Forest and striker Danny Pollard also beat Clarets goalkeeper Lee Bracey.
