Ben Walsh and wife Ashley were the first couple to be married at Turf Moor when the club first won promotion to the Premier League in 2009.

Now, they have celebrated the birth of their second child, Henry, by securing a season ticket for next season to Turf Moor.

Padiham-born Ben, who now lives in St Helens, said: “I was eight years old when I had my first season ticket and so I thought it would be nice to start Henry young.

“He will then always be able to say he’s been on the Turf since I was baby. I will obviously only take him on when the weather’s warm, but I hope he grows up to be a big fan.”

Clarets legend Jimmy McIlroy was the star guest at Ben and Ashley’s wedding on June 27th, 2009, which Ashley had organised as a surprise for her sweetheart.

Ben (34) added: “When Ashley booked the wedding 18 months before we were sitting third from bottom in the Championship and by the time of the wedding we had won promotion to the Premier League.

“The team have had another brilliant season and I hope we can get back to the Premier League again.”

Henry’s season ticket will be in the Jimmy McIlroy, formerly the Bee Hole End, where Ben first started watching the Clarets.
