Young Burnley midfielder Lynch joins Stalybridge Celtic on loan

Teenage Clarets’ midfielder David Lynch has joined Blue Square North promotion challengers Stalybridge Celtic on a month’s loan.

Lynch moves to Bower Fold after completing a recent three-month spell with league rivals Droylsden, whose win against Celtic last Saturday put a dent in their title hopes.

Unlike Droylsden, Stalybridge operate on a full-time basis with a young squad under the guidance of former Morecambe boss Jimmy Harvey.

And Lynch’s move to Tameside, where he will link up with former Burnley youth-teamer and cousin Chris Lynch, will give the 18-year-old first-year professional the chance of further senior football.

The Clarets are keen to allow their young players the chance to move out on loan to further their progress alongside the reserve and development programme in place at Turf Moor.
