The luckless Mee twisted his knee in the 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest on Easter Monday, on his return from suspension, following his dismissal for two bookable offences at Blackburn Rovers.

The former Manchester City youngster had only been restored to the side the previous game, at home to Hull City, having missed 17 games in three months out with another knee problem, suffered in the earlier derby with Rovers at Turf Moor.

However, Michael Duff, who has sat out the last three games with a niggling calf strain, is unlikely to be involved at Bloomfield Road.

Dyche, who has no other injury concerns, with Dean Marney coming through his return against Bristol City on Saturday, said: “Ben and Duffo are feeling better about themselves, and we’re hoping might sneak in there and have a chance for Blackpool.

“His knee has settled down quite quickly. “It was a minor twist, after an innocuous incident where he just fell awkwardly.

“He has a better chance than Duffo, who is probably touch and go .”
