The Ashes hero and world class seam bowler was born in Burnley and always keeps an eye on how the Clarets are fairing no matter which part of the world he is in.

To a world class master of spin and journalist/broadcaster Alastair Campbell has been a frequent visitor to Turf Moor over the years.

Burnley fans have enjoyed plenty of sunshine along with quite a few black clouds over the years – but none more than TV weatherman John Kettley, a self-confessed Burnley fan.

He may be most famous for his appearances on Coronation Street but Sam Aston (aka Chesney) is also a regular fixture at the Turf, as is Burnley-born presenter Tony Livesey, who regularly contributes to the matchday magazine.

Back to the soaps and Emmerdale’s Jarvis Skelton (played by Burnley born Richard Moore) is another well known Claret while the most famous Dingle of them all, Zak Dingle (played by Steve Halliwell) has also been spotted at the Turf.

Margaret Thatcher’s chief press secretary Bernard Ingham is also a fan of all things claret and blue and actress Alice Barry, Lillian Tyler in Channel 4’s “Shameless” who is currently serving up a cheeky treat for Sport Relief, never has anything but kind words for her hometown team.
