VIDEO: Martin Paterson’s future still not clear
The club opened negotiations with the 26-year-old weeks ago in a bid to extend his five-year stay but the Northern Ireland international, currently on his honeymoon, has still not signed on the dotted line.
Paterson’s situation is currently being monitored by Wolves who dropped out of the Championship last season.

“We’re still interested in that and still trying to use what we can wisely. But when players come out of contract they do have that situation where they can say ‘yes’ or where they can say ‘no’.
“At the moment nothing has been finalised so it’s still ongoing. Obviously it’s getting closer to pre-season and he is away on honeymoon as well so we don’t want to interrupt too much on that and get him off to a bad start on that score. It’s continuing to develop and we’ll see where it takes us.”
