The Clarets saw off the Stags 4-2, and the Jam Tarts 4-1 as players got their third taste of pre-season, two weeks before their Premier League campaign starts at Leicester City.

Burnley raced into a 3-0 lead inside half an hour against Hearts, Jay Rodriguez scoring from the spot after Lewis Richardson was brought down.

Max Thompson added a second, before Richardson made it 3-0 after Thompson’s effort was saved.

Hearts pulled one back 10 minutes before half-time, but Johann Berg Gudmundsson - who stayed behind to build up his fitness with Burnley rather than be involved for Iceland against England - completed the scoring with a chip shortly after the restart.

Against Mansfield, Town took the lead midway through the first half, before Josh Brownhill equalised with a free kick 10 minutes from the break.

Chris Wood put the Clarets ahead from a Dwight McNeil cross 11 minutes into the second half, before Bobby Thomas headed home a corner.
