Defender Kieran Trippier won’t be afraid when Manchester City come to Turf Moor this evening.
In fact the 24-year-old former Sky Blue is relishing the challenge that the Premier League champions will pose.
Manuel Pellegrini was without Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany when the Clarets overturned a two-goal deficit to claim a point at the Etihad in December, while £28m striker Wilfried Bony has been added to the squad.
“Manchester City will provide us with more tough opposition but every game in this league is tough,” he said.
“This is where we want to be and that’s why we fought so hard last year to get here. Hopefully we can stay here.
“We don’t fear anybody and we didn’t fear them at their place when we were 2-0 down at half-time.
“We came back and got a great result so we’ll be pushing to get the three points at our place.”
Trippier added: “It makes it more exciting for everybody. Chelsea had Hazard, Diego Costa and Fabregas.
“It’ll be no different coming up against Aguero or Toure. They’re obviously quality opposition but we’ll take them on.”
