Thousands flood Burnley streets to celebrate Clarets’ historic promotion triumph

Burnley fans flooded the streets in their thousands to celebrate the Clarets’ Premier League promotion triumph.

The town centre was a sea of claret and blue as Sean Dyche and his promotion-winning side took an open top bus parade through Burnley.

Jubilant crowds cheered home their Championship heroes who defied all the odds to clinch automatic promotion to English football’s top table.

Dyche and his men were welcomed to Burnley Town Hall for a civic reception with Burnley Mayor Coun. Frank Cant and dozens of dignitaries, councillors, business leaders and club chiefs.

The Clarets stars appeared on the town hall balcony to parade the promotion trophy as “We are Premier League!” echoed around the streets.

Fans of all ages then lined the streets as the Clarets boarded the bus and paraded through the town centre to rapturous applause.

Thousands clapped and cheered as the double decker crawled its way from the town hall to Turf Moor which will welcome back some of the biggest names in world football next season.
