The Burnley players running a disciplinary tightrope ahead of the return of the Premier League

The cut off point for a two-match suspension for 10 yellow cards is after the 32nd game - likely to be the Clarets' trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace, with the rearranged fixture list set to be confirmed later this week.

And four players currently run the risk of a ban.

Midfielder Ashley Westwood is the most at risk, as he will have to navigate three games without receiving another booking, as he sits on nine yellow cards.

James Tarkowski and Jeff Hendrick are both on eight, while Ben Mee, on seven bookings, would have to earn a yellow card in each of the next three games to be suspended.

Westwood was the only Burnley player to be suspended for five yellow cards this season, sitting out the 2-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace in December.

The midfielder was the first of Dyche's players in almost a year to miss a game through suspension.

Robbie Brady was dismissed at Huddersfield Town in January 2019 - the club's last red card - coming after Matt Lowton sat out the West Ham game in December 2018 under the five-bookings totting up process.

In December 2017, James Tarkowski served a retrospective ban after an incident at Brighton, but you have to go back to Jeff Hendrick at Watford in February 2017 for the previous sending off.

Burnley have crept up the list of bookings in the Premier League, with 13 in the last four games before lockdown, and are now fourth with 58, behind Arsenal and Tottenham (63) and Watford (61).

But they are one of only three clubs without a red card in the top flight so far this season.
