The centre back, who has been the subject of two offers from West Ham, the latest worth up to £30m, missed Thursday night's Carabao Cup win over Sheffield United with what was described as a toe injury by boss Sean Dyche.

But his absence will only add to speculation that the 27-year-old England international may not be a Burnley player come deadline day a fortnight tomorrow.

Jimmy Dunne makes his Burnley league debut alongside Kevin Long, with skipper Ben Mee also out injured, while Phil Bardsley and Charlie Taylor are the full backs.

The centre of midfield picks itself, with Josh Brownhill and captain Ashley Westwood, while Dwight McNeil and Robbie Brady are the wide men.

Jay Rodriguez partners former Foxes striker Chris Wood up front, with Nick Pope in goal.

The substitutes are: Matt Lowton, Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Erik Pieters, Matej Vydra, Bobby Thomas, Josh Benson, Anthony Glennon.
