Study shows Burnley are one of the most economical Premier League clubs

And a BetVictor study has shown that only three other Premier League clubs get more value for money in terms of points and wins in comparison to their wage bills.

During the season’s recent downtime, Player Wages delved into the season’s form and finances, to uncover just how much per win and per point clubs are likely to pay come the revised season end of July 25, 2020.

Burnley are predicted to finish with 52 points at a cost of £712,000 per point and £2.645million per win, with only Wolves (57 points, £540,298, £2.369million), Norwich City (28 points,

£477,643, £1.911million) and Sheffield United (59 points, £229,153, £901,333) more economical.

As the Premier League looks to get back underway and Liverpool edge towards their first top flight title since 1989/90, BetVictor can reveal they’re on course to break another record – the most economical league winners for 16 years.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are set to pay just £3million per win in wages come the end of the season according to the new study, lower than any other title winning side since 2004.

According to the study, not since the Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ has a title winning club paid less per win than what Liverpool will pay, based upon current form and considering inflation.

It’s estimated the side will pay just over £1million per point, considerably less than the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United, who are expected to fork out £2.3million per point, higher than any other club in the division.

Last season, Manchester City paid £6.9million per win, over double what Liverpool will pay, while Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea have spent the most per win during a title winning season at £8.3million back in 2014/15.

This season, Sheffield United are on course to pay the lowest per win at just £900k, a feat no club has achieved since 1998/99. The Blades are paying less per point than any other side, with the end of season tally expected to be around £230k per point.

Arsenal are expected to have paid among the most per win come the end of the season at £8.3million per win, more than they paid for David Luiz at the beginning of the season. That figure is only beaten by Manchester United, with every Solskjaer win seeing United handing out £8.45million in wages.

Over the past decade, Chelsea have paid the most per win of all champions, forking out £8.3million for every three points in 2014/15, although that figure jumped to £18.5million the following season as Mourinho received the sack and Guus Hiddink came in as a replacement.
