And Clarets midfielder Brian Stock sees no reason why the side can’t match that after being knocked out of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night by Premier League West Ham.

Burnley travel to Millwall tomorrow top of the Championship table after winning their last seven league games, and he is looking to stretch that sequence at The Den.

He said: “Nothing changes on a day to day basis, we work hard in training, the manager demands really high intensity training and the team spirit will no doubt will be high.

“We’ve got no reason to be down, we’ve given a good account of ourselves against West Ham and we’re top of the league.

“We can go into a game at Millwall, which is going to be a very hard game and very hard place to get a result, but nothing changes for us, we’ll work hard and try to get another result.

“The manager’s drilled it into us that we can win every single game and that’s how we go into every game.

“Although we’ve lost to West Ham our attitude won’t change

“Although we’ve lost in the cup we’re doing well in the league so we have to maintain the standards in training, and I’m sure we will.”

Burnley’s only league defeat at Brighton produced a remarkable response, and Stock added: “It’s how you react in this league and we’ve got a very strong character in the dressing room, a great team spirit and that’s going to stand us in good stead throughout the whole of this season.

“The lads aren’t too disappointed.

“The only thing that was missing from the first half against West Ham was maybe a goal or two.

“We had a very good side on the back foot and we really dominated possession against a very accomplished Premier League side. I was quite surprised how much time they did give us on the ball.

“We managed to get in quite easily at times but one or two changes for them I think maybe was what they needed and maybe that was the difference between the two sides, with Kevin Nolan winning the penalty and Jack Collison winning the other.

“But the one thing we’ve done all season is just move on and put it behind us.”
