Reid’s return leaves just Matt Taylor and Sam Vokes currently unavailable, with Vokes stepping up his fitness on the long road back from a serious knee injury.

Taylor is just starting his rehabilitation after an operation to remove a spur on his heel, and Dyche said: “Reidy is back training and has been doing fine.

“Vokesey is still making good progress, although he’s not ready yet, and Matty was back in this week after his operation to start his rehab.

“Other than that, Dean Marney came through at Arsenal last week and is fine.”

On Vokes, Dyche added: “He is up to where we want him to be. He’s not in full training, but it is a natural progression.”

Meanwhile, Burnley take on Hull City tomorrow, with Tigers boss Steve Bruce a manager Dyche admires.

Bruce not only guided Hull to survival, the Tigers reachedthe FA Cup Final and won a place in Europe, and Dyche said: “Steve is a good manager and I have a lot of respect for him - he always has time for you, and helped me out when I was starting out at Watford.

“He is a total football man, and he’s built a very strong team at Hull.

“They’ve certainly had backing, but they’ve moved things on again from last year and brought in a number of quality players. They’ve learned from the market and are now signing big players on big wages. We’re in our infancy in that respect - it’s been a very tough market as has been well documented.”
