Stanislas to leave Burnley FC

The former West Ham United winger was one of a number of players out of contract this summer at Turf Moor.

And Stanislas, who has been at Turf Moor for three years, has opted to leave the club and further his career elsewhere.

The 24-year-old said: “After careful deliberation I have decided to turn down the offer of a contract extension with Burnley Football Club and move on to pastures new.

“I would like to thank the Burnley fans for their support over the three years. The crowd reaction after I scored against Blackburn will live with me forever.

“I wish my team mates, the fans and all the staff every success for the coming season in the Premier League.”

Stanislas joined the Clarets in the summer of 2011, ending a 10-year association with the Hammers.

The former England U21 international’s first season at Turf Moor saw him make 31 Championship appearances, followed by a further 37 appearances the following season, scoring five times.

In his final season at Turf Moor, Stanislas scored a further three goals, including the stunning opener in the home draw with Blackburn Rovers at Turf Moor.

He made his 100th appearance for club in the celebratory home game against Ipswich Town in late April before featuring for the final time at Reading on the closing day of the Championship season.
