Rodriguez came off shortly after scoring the winner against Watford at Turf Moor on Thursday evening, after taking a bang to his ankle.

He has also been nursing a tight hamstring, but, with Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood still out injured, Dyche knows he could be down to one senior forward - Matej Vydra.

Dyche said ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park: "We hope it is nothing serious but we’re running out of players rapidly so we had to take him off.

"I will find out more today but we are hoping it is not drastic."

Wood, Barnes and wideman Robbie Brady are unlikely to feature again at Palace, but come the next home game, a week on Sunday against Sheffield United, there may be more encouraging news: "There is an outside chance.

"We are hopeful Robbie will train this week. Woody is doing well and is in front of the curve but we are being careful because we want him to be right.

"Barnesy is behind the curve. Johann is doing well.”
