Sam Vokes named SkyBet Championship player of the month
Burnley striker Sam Vokes has this morning been announced as February’s SkyBet Championship player of the month.
The marksman found the net five times in February, scoring twice against both QPR and Nottingham Forest, he also scored the only goal in the one-nil victory at the Reebok Stadium over Bolton.
It’s the first time the striker has won the award, and it caps off a great week after scoring in Wales’ mid-week victory over Iceland.
Sam has scored 18 goals for the Clarets this term, and has formed a prolific partnership with Danny Ings, the pair have scored 42 goals between them.
