Reports of bid for Bournemouth striker wide of mark

REPORTS claiming Burnley have made a bid for Bournemouth striker Wes Thomas are wide of the mark.

The 26-year-old, who enjoyed a spell on loan at Blackpool earlier this season, was left out of the Cherries’ squad for the trip to Hartlepool on Tuesday.

And on Wednesday, stories surfaced claiming the Clarets had made an offer for Thomas.

However, while I understand there has been a tentative enquiry for the player, there has been no bid on the back of that.

Thomas is believed to be interesting Blackburn Rovers, whose new boss Michael Appleton took him to Blackpool on loan, after a similar spell with his previous club Portsmouth.

Bournemouth are thought to want more than the £200,000 they paid for the player last season, when making the switch from Crawley Town.
