Readstone united Blues under 8’s 2, Briercliffe 0

READSTONE United Under 8s Blues beat Briercliffe 2-0 at home, with man of the match Nathan Dansen scoring both goals.

Readstone Under 9s Yellows won 5-2 at Pendle Forest with two goals each for Charlie Nowell and man of the match Owen Parker, and one from Alex Morrissey.

The Under 10s Blue beat Colne Juniors 4-2, with star man Brandon Wylie scoring a hat trick, and Saul Wilds also on target.

The Under 10s Yellow beat Barrowford Celtic 5-1. The goalscorers were James Bridge (2), Harry Burrows, Ben Dinning and Cade Leonard. George Taylor was named man of the match.

The Under 13s had an excellent 3-0 victory over top of the table Pendle Forest, with goals from Lewis Simpson, Oliver Boult and James Davies. Patrick Fleming was named man of the match.

BRIERFIELD Celtic Under 13s Red backed up their record win by earning a place in the cup semi-final for the first time.

The side beat Rossendale 20-1, with six goals from Bradley Titherington, five from Ryan McGinty, four from Ben Kelly, a Cain Buck hat-trick, and two from Jonny Davies.

Celtic then beat West End 9-0 in the cup quarter-final. They led 3-0 at half-time wqith goals from Davies, McGinty and Buck.

McGinty took his tally to four with a second-half hat-trick, while Buck grabbed two more before Titherington scored the goal of the game.

Celtic’s newest team, the Under 7s, put on a great display to beat Mill Hill from Blackburn. Man of the match was Cameron Brown.

The Under 8s put in another outstanding performance at Trawden Celtic.

Bailey Dickson, Tom Drake, Johnny Stevenson and Joe Livesey - who scored six - were on target, with Louis Rodgers named man of the match.

Celtic’s Under 15s Red made it four wins out of four, with a 10-1 victory over SC United at Parsons Clough.

Stuart Burnett scored five, Bradley Brown scored a hat-trick and there were further goals from Rahill Sidiq and Oliver Miller.

They backed that up with a 6-0 win over Colne Red with hat-tricks from George Bury and Burnett.

l PENDLE Forest’s Football Academy moves indoors from tomorrow through the winter months.
