Express sports correspondent Dan Black identifies some of the key figures likely to be involved in the fixture and analyses some of the trends surrounding previous meetings between the two clubs as Sean Dyche's side look to extend their impressive form in the top flight.

The Possible Teams:

Burnley - Pope, Bardsley, Tarkowski, Long, Pieters, Gudmundsson, Brownhill, Westwood, McNeil, Vydra, Wood.

Norwich - Krul, Aarons, Godfrey, Klose, Lewis, Tettey, Vrancic, Buendia, Stiepermann, Hernandez, Pukki.

The Referee:

Kevin Friend, who was on duty at Stockley Park midweek, will take charge of Burnley's penultimate game of the season at Carrow Road.

Friend was the VAR official on Wednesday evening, endorsing Mike Dean's decision to award the Clarets a penalty deep into stoppage time against Wolves.

The 49-year-old, from Leicestershire, has been the man in the middle for three of Burnley's Premier League games this season.

He officiated the 5-0 hammering at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the 3-0 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge - where he disallowed a Jeff Hendrick header and awarded the hosts a contentious penalty - and, earlier in the season, was in charge for a 3-0 win over West Ham United at Turf Moor.

Friend has shown three red cards this season in the Premier League and issued 74 cautions, averaging 3.1 yellow cards per match since August. Meanwhile, Lee Mason will be on VAR duty.

The Form Guide:

The Clarets have lost just once in 14 games in the Premier League, clocking up 27 points in that time. The club's form during that sequence is the third best on offer in the division, with only champions Liverpool and runners up Manchester City exceeding that rate by a two-point and a single-point margin respectively.

Sean Dyche's side have lost just once in seven games on the road, taking 14 points from 21 on offer, with victories over Manchester United, Southampton, Crystal Palace and the Hammers, while they ended Liverpool's record-breaking winning streak at Anfield a week ago. A 15th league victory of the season would be Burnley's highest total in a Premier League campaign.

Norwich's form, on the other hand, isn't pretty to look at. The Canaries have lost eight league games on the bounce and have scored just once in 740 minutes of football. That goal belongs to Emiliano Buendia, who netted in the fourth minute of a 2-1 defeat against Watford at Vicarage Road earlier this month.

Daniel Farke's men have won four times this term, with victories over Newcastle United, Manchester City, AFC Bournemouth and Leicester City.

Lawro's prediction:

Burnley are going great at the moment, extending their unbeaten run to six games and cementing their place in the top 10 with Wednesday's draw with Wolves.

To come back so late in that game tells you all about the belief they have got.

For me, the story of the Clarets' season is almost as good as Sheffield United's has been, and they are built on similar foundations.

What's different about the Blades under Chris Wilder, of course, is that this is their first year back in the Premier League, but Burnley boss Sean Dyche deserves lots of credit for doing it time and time again.

Like Wilder, the relationship Dyche has with his squad and the fact he knows his players so well, and how to motivate them, is the key to their success. Both clubs are run well from top to bottom too.

Prediction: 0-2The Record Books:

The Clarets have come out on top in seven of their previous 10 league meetings with Norwich City, scoring twice or more in all but two of those games.

The last of those was a 2-0 win at Turf Moor in September when leading scorer Chris Wood netted a brace in the opening quarter-of-an-hour.

Norwich have actually won two of the last three meetings between the two sides in all competitions.

Goals from Grant Hanley and Josip Drmic dumped Burnley out of the FA Cup in the fourth round in January and they recorded a 4-1 win in the competition eight-and-a-half years ago. Jay Rodriguez was on the scoresheet for the Clarets.

Since they were first acquainted in December 1934, when Burnley won 3-2 on the road in Division Two, the Clarets have gone on to win 19 more encounters against their rivals, losing 15, while they've played out seven stalemates.

The Danger Men:

Perhaps an unorthodox choice, but goalkeeper Tim Krul could well be the man that makes the difference in Norfolk on Saturday evening.

The former Newcastle United stopper has been one of the positives on a mainly negative return to the Premier League for last season's Championship winners.

The Dutchman, who is close friends with Clarets full back Erik Pieters, has emerged as the club's leading contender for the Player of the Year accolade with an array of impressive displays in defeat.

Despite suffering relegation, the 32-year-old can hold his head high having shown his value to the team when keeping the score down at Stamford Bridge.

In terms of outfield threats, you'd be foolish to ignore the likes of Teemu Pukki, Todd Cantwell and Emiliano Buendia.

The once-prolific Finn, who scored 18 times for club and country in the first half of the season, is certainly due a goal having failed to find the net in 14 appearances in all competitions.

Attack-minded Argentine midfielder Buendia holds plenty of potential. At just 23 the former Getafe youngster will come on leaps and bounds from his first run out in the Premier League. He has real quality on the ball, influencing play in the final third, and has combined well with Pukki, with four of his seven assists donated to the striker.

Last, but by no means least, Cantwell has shown that he belongs at this level. The 22-year-old is a rising star in the game and an England international in the making. City's academy product looks comfortable among the country's elite with his calmness and composure in possession, his surging runs from midfield, his range of passing and his ability to chip in with a goal or two.
