EDDIE Howe won his first game in charge of Burnley at struggling Portsmouth last night.
Jay Rodriguez opened the scoring for the Clarets when he latched onto Danny Foxs’ cross and slotted home past Ashdown in the Portsmouth goal.
The lead was short lived though, as John Utaka equalised for this hosts moments later after Kanu skillfully played the Nigerian in.
Dean Marney restored the Burnley lead five minutes later, when after Steve Thompson’s shot was saved by Ashdown, he acrobatically overhead kicked the ball into the bottom corner.
