BURNLEY continued their good start to pre-season with a comprehensive win over Bury at Gigg Lane last night.

Charlie Austin, making his first appearance for the Clarets since the 2-1 victory over Preston in February opened the scoring after his shot was deflected past Belford in the Bury goal.

Alex MacDonald made it two goals in two games smashing home after a neat flick from Marvin Bartley.

Burnley should have extended the lead further in the second half after Dean Marney was felled in the Bury box, but Chris Eagles spot-kick was pushed wide by Belford.

Chris Iwelumo settled the game in the dying moments, a trademark header from a Ross Wallace cross also made it two goals in two games for the giant striker.
