JAY Rodriguez scored two goals for the first time in his career last night, but it wasn’t enough as a spirited Coventry performance held the Clarets to a draw.

Rodriguez opened the scoring for the Clarets just before the twenty minute mark, receiving the ball from Mears, he cleverly flicked the ball around Coventry defender Richard Keogh and lobbed the ball over on rushing keeper Kieran Westwood.

The visitors equalised midway through the second half when Jutkiew’z was given two headed chances at goal, the first hitting the bar, but the rebound finding the net.

Gary McSheffrey put the Sky Blues ahead after a wonderful individual goal, where after evading two challenges, he curled the ball into the top corner.

The lead lasted just four minutes though as a Danny Fox corner found the head of Rodriguez who drove his header powerfully past Westwood to level matters.

Burnley pressed for a winner, but time ran out on them as their promotion hopes suffer another blow.
