Padiham FC players and staff involved in car crash

Three Padiham FC officials and one player were taken to hospital after being involved in a crash on the way to a game last night.

The Storks were facing West Didsbury and Chorlton in the Lancashire FA Trophy but one of the cars was involved in a crash on the motorway which resulted in the game being postponed.

Player Aurelia Lustin tweeted that he was fine and he, alongside the Padiham physio, were sent home.

Chairman Shaun Astin and secretary Alan Smith were both checked in hospital but manager Steve Wilkes said on Twitter last night: "Thank you for all the texts, phone calls and tweets regarding people involved in a car crash.

"My physio and player are both at home recovering and my secretary and chairman are both at hospital being assessed."

Steve Wilkes confirmed this morning everyone was ok apart from a few bumps and bruises.
