PADIHAM’S pre-season warm-up games continued last week with two wins against West Lancashire League Premier Division clubs.
Last Tuesday the Storks travelled to Coppull United and won 1-0 courtesy of a fifth-minute strike from Ben Allen, and on Thursday, Lostock St Gerrard’s were the opposition, with Padiham again coming out on top, this time by a 2-0 scoreline, after second half goals from Paul Walker and Andrew Tinker.
Padiham Reserves took to the field for the first time on Saturday against West Lancashire League newcomers Leyland Town.
But two goals from the home side in the final 10 minutes saw the Storks go down 4-2.
Padiham’s goals were scored by Gareth Hill and Zack Wilkes.
The Storks are in action tonight at Eagley in another friendly, kick-off 7-45 p.m., before staging two testing home friendlies at the Arbories against an Accrington Stanley XI on Saturday (kick-off 3 p.m.) and then Burnley’s development squad next Tuesday, kick-off 7 p.m.
Admission to both Padiham’s home warm-up games will be £5 for adults and £2 concessions, with junior school children accompanied by an adult let in free of charge.
