PADIHAM were very much the dominant force in their opening pre-season friendly against West Lancashire Football League Premier Division side Longridge Town on Friday night, winning 5-1.
A hat-trick from Joe Garvin (pictured) between the 11th and 14th minute of the first half put the Storks 3-0 up, with Ted Cockett adding a fourth goal in the 24th minute to give Padiham a 4-0 interval lead.
A slight change at half-time kept things lively with Padiham adding a fifth goal on 50 minutes through Steve Cunningham.
The home side pulled one back 20 minutes from time when Lewis Wilkes scored from a deflected free kick.
Padiham take a side to play another West Lancashire Football League Premier Division Side tomorrow night when they play Coppull United, who beat Nelson 3-1 on Saturday.
Kick off is at 7-15 p.m.
On Thursday night Padiham are in action again when they travel to West Lancashire Football League side Lostock St Gerard’s to play in a game brought forward from Saturday.
Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
Padiham’s search for a main sponsor for 20212/13 continues after discussions with a number of interested parties resulted in some support for the Storks but not a main sponsorship deal.
Club Secretary Alan Smith said: “We will now have to widen the net in our search for a sponsor.”
