New name on the cup!

Crown beat 2005 winners Sacred Heart 4-1 thanks to a Matthew Coates hat-trick and a penalty by Mark Dutton. Hearts replied through Neill Kelly. A solitary goal from Michael Butler proved enough for Pendle Blues Athletic to book their place in the last four at the expense of Lord Nelson. SKK Blacko, also of the First Division, won a five match thriller against Pendle Renegades 3-2. Greg Winton, Lee Hartley and Anthony Hartley scored for Blacko.

The final place in the last four will go to the winners of Sacred Heart United and Boca Clarets, which was postponed last Sunday and will now be played on Sunday, March 4th at Sough Park.

Second Division newcomers FC Intershape pulled off the shock of the weekend with a superb 3-2 victory against Premier Division Paak United. Mark Crabtree, James Brooke and Steven Dickson were all on target for Intershape to take their club through to the quarter finals. Danyal Butt and Amir Ashraf scored United’s goals. A double hat-trick from Michael Uprichard along with strikes from Tony Mansworth and Jack Duxbury booked Timmy T’s place in the last eight after an 8-0 win against Barnoldswick Barons, but the biggest victory of the weekend was Trawden Venue’s 12-2 win over Shooters Clarets. Carl Ellerton and Ben Gorman both scored four times, Tom Swindells grabbed two and Rob Lawless and Stuart Cross also got on the scoresheet. Ash Southworth and Lee Judson scored for Shooters.

Brenda Park’s hat-trick guaranteed Crooked Billet’s place in the quarter finals with a 3-1 win against Life Athletic who replied with a goal from James Parker. A Daniel Wilcox hat-trick along with goals from Joshua Hind and Paul Carey helped George and Dragon Athletic beat AFC Veterans 5-2. Premier Division sides Graham Engineering Redskins and Pendle Blues both enjoyed 4-1 victories against Pendle Athletic and Golden Ball. Chris Bell, Ian Fraser, Lawrence Collinson and David Blacklock were all on target for Redskins. Athletic’s consolation came from Emsan Shah. A Jamie Holmes brace, a goal from James Murphy and an own goal booked Blues’ place in the quarter-finals. Dale Radcliffe scored Golden Ball’s consolation. They will be joined in the last eight by Colne Town who overcame Colne Cougars 8-2.

In the league, Life FC moved second in the Premier Division following a 3-2 victory against Station Hotel. Zahoor Hussain, Usmar Mahmood and Zia Mahmood scored for Life.
