Momentous season celebrated with new DVD

Clive Tyldesley’s commentary describing the moment Burnley ended their seven-year stay in the Fourth Division still sends a chill down the spine.

And the Burnley Are Back video from that momentous 1991/92 season has been repackaged as a DVD with new interviews, graphics and a newly-scripted narrative, while maintaining the iconic match commentary.

Titled One Night In York, the new production is 76 minutes long, with extras including a message from Tyldesley, a Milltown Brothers music video and a behind-the-scenes feature.

It is priced at £12-99 and is available now from the Clarets Stores at Turf Moor and in town.

There will be a signing session tomorrow at the club shop at Turf Moor from noon, with heroes from the championship-winning team, Roger Eli, John Deary and John Francis.

l STRIKER Jason Gilchrist’s hat-trick helped Burnley into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup following a 7-0 demolition of non-league Boston.

Steve Hewitt and Shay McCartan tested Pilgrims’ keeper Marc Hipwell in the early stages, skipper Tom Anderson headed over from an Archie Love free kick, while Hewitt troubled the Boston defence again with a jinking run, though he could only steer a low effort wide.

Midfielder Cameron Howieson sent a header over from close range from an enticing Aryn Williams centre as the Clarets piled on the pressure, but their reward came in the 34th minute as Gilchrist turned sharply 12 yards out to fire home off the inside of the post.

Burnley pushed forward in search of a second, which almost came when Gilchrist’s lob was hooked off the line after the striker had been threaded through by McCartan.

But four minutes before the break that cushion arrived when Hewitt swung in a free-kick which beat Hipwell with the aid of a deflection.

Terry Pashley’s youngsters were given a reminder that the tie wasn’t over three minutes into the second half when a poor clearance from keeper Josh Cook allowed Elliott Price to chip goalwards with an effort that was headed clear by Alex Coleman.

That effort galvanised the Clarets who effectively booked their passage into the next round when Williams’ precise cross was met by Howieson with a diving header at the far post.

Burnley’s third sparked a 12-minute goal blitz as they scored four more. Alex Mullin’s header was sliced into his own net by by Jordan Nuttell to make it 4-0 and the youngster made it five with a stylish left-footed effort from McCartan’s slotted pass.

Boston were reduced to 10 men with half-an-hour to go when Charley Sanders saw red for elbowing Williams before the Clarets inflicted further punishment with two quick fire strikes.

Gilchrist scored his second, heading in Luke Conlan’s cross, before completing his hat-trick when he nodded in from close range after Hewitt’s shot cannoned back off the bar.
