Minute’s applause for Burnley legend

Clarets stalwart Arthur Bellamy will be remembered with a one-minute applause ahead of Tuesday’s league game with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Bellamy, who made 250 appearances for the club between 1963-1972 and later held a positions of coach, assistant manager and head groundsman, died on January 22nd at the age of 71.

His funeral will take place at St John’s the Evangelist’s Church in Worsthorne on Friday at 10-30am. The funeral cortege will pass Turf Moor at 10-10am.

Bellamy scored 29 goals for Burnley before his move to Chesterfield in 1972, including an unforgettable hat-trick away at Champions Everton in the first game of the 1963/64 season.

The flag at Turf Moor is currently at half mast and will remain so until after his funeral.
