Millwall favourites for clash with Clarets

THIS weekend, Sean Dyche’s men travel to Millwall looking to leap frog their mid table rivals into seventh place in a push to finish in the top six come the end of the season.

The Lions are best priced at 6/5 for a home win, with bwin offering 5/2 for the draw and Pinnacle 28/11 for the away win which seems good value as the hosts have lost three of their last five games at home in the league.

Online betting comparison site, Oddschecker.com analysed all of the betting markets involving Burnley FC so far this 2012/13 season and local punters might be interested to know that two bookmakers are offering consistently better value than the median. The Championships second top goal scorer, Charlie Austin is best priced by Boylesports at 11/2 to score first with Clarets fans hoping he will be back to full fitness. The striker is also backed at 6/4 to score anytime with the same firm. Surprisingly, Darius Henderson is favourite to open the scoring and is best priced at 5/1 with Betfred, the bookmaker offering a ‘double delight’ and ‘hat-trick heaven’ on first goal scorers, multiplying the odds if he scores more than once. The striker has bagged just seven league goals this season, two of which have been at home.

Burnley have suffered just one defeat in their last six Championship fixtures, winning three, drawing two, and three clean sheets in their last four. This may result in punters backing Burnley to keep a clean sheet, best priced at 42/13 with Betfair. Sport fans may also look at under 2.5 goals, as nine out of Burnley’s last ten league games have resulted in less.
