Mee is backing Clarets to get their mojo back

The 25-year-old, who spent five months on loan with the Foxes in 2011, claimed it was imperative the Clarets responded from the 4-0 thumping against West Brom, particularly with the international break on the horizon.

“It was a hard fought draw for us,” he said. “Any late goal enables you to come in with a good feeling and I think we deserved it overall so we’re very pleased. To score a late goal to win or draw a game will put you on a bit of a high.

“A defeat wouldn’t have been great because it’s a long two weeks where you’ve got to train with that defeat hanging over you. It was nice to get the result and it will help us gain in belief and confidence.”

Mee also praised the character of the side to snatch a late point, and drew comparisons to the stalemate against Watford at Vicarage Road last term where Sean Dyche’s side also had key personnel absent.

“We never give up and we’ve got a lot of character in the side,” said Mee. “Even the lads that have come in are a similar mould to the lads we’ve got.

“It’s nice to get two goals as well because we’ve been criticised for not scoring. We’ll take a lot of confidence from coming here and getting a point.”

He added: “It was a similar game (to Watford). We kicked on, hung around in the game, and that’s because we’ve got a lot of character in the side.

“Wardy hasn’t played there for a while but he was fantastic. The lads that have come in have done a great job.

“You can never count us out. It was a one off against West Brom and it’s the first time it’s happened since the gaffer’s been here.”
