Padiham Football Club suffered another postponement on Saturday when their North West Counties Football League home fixture at the Arbories Memorial Sports Grounds YESSS Electrical Arena against Congleton Town was yet again a casualty of the weather.
Steve Wilkes’ side are scheduled to travel to Ashton Athletic tonight in the North West Counties Football League, kick-off 7-45 p.m.
Padiham Reserves, on the other hand, took the opportunity of an invitation by Morecambe Football Club to play a friendly against their Development Squad.
A remarkable game ended with the Storks drawing 5-5 with the Shrimps, as Padiham’s Nathan Egan scored four goals.
Padiham trailed 1-0 on seven minutes, but drew level through Egan on 13 minutes.
However, Morecambe hit back to lead 3-1 at the break.
Morecambe went further ahead on 70 minutes, before a remarkable Padiham fight back.
Egan scored three further goals in the space of 10 minutes, between the 72nd and 82nd minutes, to level the scores at 4-4.
Then Brad Knox put the Storks 5-4 ahead on 87 minutes, before the hosts concluded the scoring in the last minute to make it 5-5 at the final whistle.
Meanwhile, Padiham FC Under 18s suffered a disappointing 3-1 away defeat at Myerscough College in the Lancashire Football Association Floodlit League on Thursday night.
In torrential rain, the young Storks took a 25th minute lead through Bobby Carter.
The home side hit back to score twice themselves before half-time, and Myerscough secured the win with a third goal 10 minutes from time.
