Burnley Under 14s are Lancashire County Schools’ FA champions after beating Chorley 3-1 to win the Wrennall Cup.
To get to the final, Burnley beat Preston, who won the Dick Clegg Shield after topping the league table, 3-2 after extra time in the semi-final, earning a tie at Turf Moor against Chorley, who beat Hyndburn and Ribble Valley on penalties.
The locals started well on home turf, before Chorley scored from a free kick from 35 yards on the half hour mark through James Gibson.
Burnley also started the second half well, but gave a penalty away when a mis-timed Jack Fletcher tackle saw the referee point to the spot.
The Chorley player blazed the penalty over the bar and this seemed to lift Burnley.
Burnley equalised in the 61st minute when a Harvey Macadam corner was headed home at the far post by Morgan Crowther.
And four minutes later, a great passing move saw Burnley take the lead.
The ball was played out wide to Harrison Yeoman, who squared the ball for Crowther to make it 2-1 to Burnley.
Within four minutes, another superb corner from Macadam was headed home by captain Jack Fletcher, as he atoned for giving the penalty away earlier on in the half.
