Lady luck not with Clarets as woodwork intervenes

Albion came for a point, and got one in a goal-less draw, after Burnley twice hit the woodwork, through Michael Kightly and Seagulls midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey, whose header was touched onto his own post by Tomas Kuszczak.

Tom Heaton was relatively unemployed for most of the game, although he made key stops from Kazenga Lua Lua and Andrea Orlandi.

Dyche said: “To play against a side who’ve only conceded 10 goals away from home, I was surprised they came here so negatively with the 4-5-1, which was 5-4-1 towards the end.

“They’re a good side, and have some quality, but in a weird way, that’s great respect to ourselves.

“Teams know we’re a good side, home and away, but particularly at home.

“But we’ve hit the post twice and had one cleared off the line, and sometimes that scratch of luck is what you need, because if one goes in, they have to come out and it changes the feel of the game.

“They hardly moved from their shape all game.”
