Keane disappointed not to mark first Premier League start with win

The 21-year-old, who made one substitute appearance in England’s top tier for his parent club and another two from the bench for the Clarets, was included in Sean Dyche’s starting XI for the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at Turf Moor.

After striker Danny Ings rescued a point from the spot, cancelling out Joe Cole’s opener for the visitors, Keane said: “I thought I did well - as always it’s disappointing to concede though. There’s still room for me to improve and hopefully there’ll be chance for me to build on that on Tuesday.

“It’s been frustrating but the lads have been doing really well in the last few weeks so I knew I wasn’t going to get in to the team when they were winning. I just had to keep training hard, wait for my chance and luckily it came.”

Keane added: “They just seemed to outnumber us in the middle, they had their wingers tucking in and we struggled to cope with that at times in the first half.

“I thought we were better in the second half, we caused them problems and in the end we’re disappointed not to come away with three points.

“We’ve got to take heart from the fact that we came back from 1-0 down and we put so much pressure on them. We said in the changing rooms after the game that we were disappointed not to win.”
