Kane backs Ings for England
Kane netted within 79 seconds of his international bow, scoring the final goal in England’s 4-0 Euro 2016 qualifying Group E triumph over Lithuania after replacing Wayne Rooney in the 72nd minute at Wembley.
The 21-year-old, who has scored 29 goals in all competitions this term, was then handed his first start for his country in the 1-1 draw against Italy in Turin last week.

Following the stalemate at Turf Moor at the weekend, Kane said: “He’s a great player, obviously I know him well from the under 21s, he scores goals, his movement is great and he showed that today.
“He’s a great prospect for English football and hopefully he continues to do well.
“There are a lot of great strikers here at the moment, English strikers especially, which is great for the country.”

“He’s a great player and that’s down to the boss and his choice, we’ve both just got to keep working hard, as do the other strikers who are trying to get a place in the team, and just see what happens.”
Kane was handed the captaincy for Spurs in the 0-0 draw against the Clarets, becoming the youngest player to skipper a side in the Premier League this season.
The Premier League’s joint top scorer alongside Chelsea’s Diego Costa said: “You could say it’s the best week of my life; to score and get my first start and then obviously captain the side today.

“It was a tough game today so all credit to Burnley. They played very well. We found it hard but it’s a point gained and we need to move on.”
