Junior Football: Fulledge Colts, Ighten Leigh, Pendle Forest

The team consists of 11 boys, captained by Santino Donnelly and managed by Alex Holt.

IGHTEN Leigh Under 13s progressed the last 16 of the Lancashire Cup for the first time on Sunday after a 3-2 win over St Helens.

Leigh went behind with a deflected shot in the first five minutes and had to dig in against a good side.

Thomas Fewster scored the equaliser 10 minutes before half-time with a near post finish.

Leigh went behind again shortly into the second half, but came back with a Liam Gidley free kick.

Then in the last six minutes Nathaniel Anderson popped up with a cool finish to send Leigh through.

Man of the match went to Cameron Lancaster.

PENDLE Forest Under 7s Blacks took on Pendle Forest Under 8s Falcons in their first derby game.

Both teams started brightly with some good passing and movement.

The older Falcons pressed the Blacks hard, forcing them into some good defensive play from Conner Denton and Fletcher Uttley.

But eventually the pressure paid off and the Falcons scored some good goals.

The blacks replied with a few goals of their own - an excellent free kick from Oliver Wilkinson, and a powerful finish from Will Woodroof.

Man of the match was Oliver Hodgson

Pendle Forest Under 10s Tornadoes continued their winning ways with a 5-2 success against Colne Juniors in the North Valley League.

Ezio De Santis scored a hat-trick and picked up the award for opponents’ man of the match, with his efforts aided by a goal each from Finn Buck and Ethan Connor.

Praise to the Forest defence and keeper, who all remained strong on a wet and cold Sunday morning.

Two crackers from man of the match Stan Dickinson, a brace for Ezio De Santis and one for Joe Webb saw Forest’s Under 10s win the derby with the Under 9s Vipers 5-0.

Conditions were very tough and credit to both sides for playing as much football as they did.
