Jonah is fans’ pick for September award

He won September’s No Nay Never - Burnley Express award after taking 26% of the supporter vote.

It’s his first player of the month award since joining from Wigan last summer.

Jones impressed in the first two games of the month, playing his part in a solid midfield unit that earned two goal-less draws against Crystal Palace and Sunderland.

He said: “It’s always a great accolade when you’re voted for any award, but when it is the fans who decide, it’s special and I’m very grateful to be named as the player of the month.

“I feel it could have been anyone of the lads. It’s been a real team effort so far and I’m looking forward to be back fit and helping the team to get results and climb the table.”

Michael Duff and Lukas Jutkiewicz were joint second with 17% each of the vote.
