Scotsman Jimmy Ross and striker Fred Dewhurst scored two goals apiece and Jack Gordon added the other as they beat Burnley 5-2 on September 8th.

December 9th, 2001: Arthur Gnohere was the unlikely hero for Burnley at Deepdale as the visitors clinched victory in a five-goal thriller. The Ivorian defender scored twice, including the winner, after the Lilywhites had recovered a two-goal deficit.

October 27th, 2006: The visitors looked to have snatched the points with two goals in three minutes, to overturn James O'Connor's strike, but a Sean St Ledger own goal (82) levelled things up before Andy Gray struck (89).
