Boss Sean Dyche recalled Jeff Hendrick and Ashley Barnes to the side, but the Clarets fell to successive Premier League defeats following the Boxing Day defeat against Everton at Goodison Park. Here's how we rated the players' performances in the final game of 2019.
5. Ben Mee 7
Burnley's Mr Dependable. Got a toe to the ball when it really mattered, took up the right positions to make vital clearances and didn't look like losing a header. A clean sheet would have been a worthy reward.
6. Jeff Hendrick 4
Ineffective. The Republic of Ireland international offered the bare minimum both on and off the ball. Afforded Williams the licence to get down the wing and two wayward shots summed up his night.
7. Dwight McNeil 6
Came in to it a lot more after the break, particularly when shifting infield to collect the ball. A spectacular turn on the halfway line in the second half highlighted his capabilities in a more central role.
8. Jack Cork 6
Quite easily the hardest working player on the pitch. Covered every blade of grass with an energetic press, nicking the loose balls and providing support for his team-mates when in possession.
