Burnley transfer news: Sean Dyche eyes loan-to-buy deal for Jonjoe Kenny as Stoke City laugh off Clarets' offer for Nathan Collins

We’re into the closing stages of the January transfer window – and speculation continues to surround Burnley.

It’s been a successful week for the Clarets on the pitch, sparked by the takeover of ALK Capital at the beginning of the year.

Back-to-back wins in the Premier League against Liverpool and Aston Villa, plus booking their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup, has Sean Dyche’s men flying high.

Last night’s 3-2 comeback win over Villa eased relegation fears, with Burnley now nine points above the relegation places.

While the good work has been carried out on the field, Dyche and the Clarets’ new owners have had one eye on new signings.

One of the players strongly linked with a move to Turf Moor over the last fortnight is Everton right-back Jonjoe Kenny.

But unfortunately, while the 23-year-old is of interest to Dyche, it appears he is currently out of the club’s price range.

According to the Daily Mirror, Burnley are not willing to meet the Toffee’s £10million asking price and instead want to take him on loan with a view to signing him permanently in the summer.

Should the Clarets fail to land the former Schalke loanee on their terms, they’ll return in six months time when Kenny has just one year left on his contract.

Kenny has been identified as a replacement for Phil Bardsley, who looks set to leave Turf Moor on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the report adds Stoke City have laughed off Burnley’s bid of £3.5milion, rising to £5million for Nathan Collins.

The Championship clubs value the highly-rated Republic of Ireland defender at £10million.

Here’s a round-up of some of the other transfer rumours involving Burnley and their top-flight rivals this morning:
