Burnley transfer news: Clarets set to launch striker swap deal, club willing to listen to offers

Sean Dyche’s Burnley have garnered a reputation, perhaps a little unfairly, for being a side who rely on their physicality to grind out results.

True, there are matches when the Clarets have to battle for their share of the spoils – take this week’s stunning win against Liverpool at Anfield as an example – but that’s not always the case, and Dyche is fortunate enough to have a number of technically-gifted talents on his books.

It would appear that the boss is looking to diversify his attacking options even more, however.

The Clarets have reportedly emerged as contenders to sign Bournemouth forward Josh King, and could be willing to use out-of-favour hitman Matej Vydra to try and complete a deal for the 29-year-old.

According to Football Insider, Burnley are willing to offer the Czech international in a cash-plus-player swap deal that would see King arrive at Turf Moor.

The Cherries are understood to be willing to listen to offers for King this month, with his contract set to expire in the summer.

And it’s easy to see why Dyche wants him on board.

Pacy and versatile with 48 goals in 161 Premier League outings, there’s no doubting King’s top flight credentials.

Even this season, when the goals have dried up for him in the Championship, his shooting accuracy is still 20% better than Vydra’s, and he is attempting over twice as many dribbles per game, as per Wyscout.

The Norwegian international would certainly bring another dimension to Burnley’s attack, and this could be one to keep a close eye on.
